A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds also are possible. Travel can be very hazardous due to snow-covered roads and possible blowing and drifting snow.

Snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches, along with up to a quarter inch of ice, is expected to accumulate in most areas. The heaviest snow is likely to fall Thursday afternoon and early evening. A changeover to sleet and freezing rain is likely overnight before precipitation ends as snow Friday morning.

Temperatures will climb in to the 20s, and winds will be from the northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
