New group forms to promote wellness

Jan 22, 2014

Camden — A new professional organization, called Destination Wellness – Midcoast Maine or DWMM, has formed to make health and wellness a mainstay of life in Midcoast Maine, and ultimately to have it recognized nationwide.

DWMM intends to accomplish its goals through a three-pronged approach:

— Connect the public to available health and wellness resources through a website, directory and social media;

— Foster interaction among members to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and coordination of services; and

— Promote health and wellness as a way of life through inspiring public programs and events.

DWMM’s first networking event, open to all whose work touches upon physical, mental, or spiritual health, will be held Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at RHEAL Day Spa, 453 Main St. in Rockland (snow date Tuesday, Feb. 11, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.) This is an opportunity for diverse members of the wellness community to meet one another and learn more about this new organization.
