New England's Growing Network Saves 50,000 Lives!

By Aldersgate United Methodist Church | Jul 03, 2014
During the 2014 New England Annual Conference Imagine No Malaria activities raised over $20,000, saving 2,000 more lives!
In addition, individuals and churches committed to keep saving lives and set goals for the coming year.
With over 35 voices at the microphones, goals to save another 10,000 lives were proclaimed!
Attendees supported the Silent Auction (over 110 lives saved), the Jewelry Table (over 96 lives saved), and offered over $16,000 in gifts and fundraising proceeds from their churches.
A $12,000 challenge match from Calvary UMC, Lewiston ME was met and the life-saving spirit of New England awakened and energized us all!
Rev Steve Garnaas Holmes saved 25 lives as he begged friends to help release him from the You’ve Been Bugged Scarf and Golf Cart tips were added to the cause!
New resources and inspiring stories from many churches filled the air and runners maneuvered through raindrops and puddles in their commitment to this life-saving cause.
Let us know what you are doing and what you need using this List of Ambassadors!
s we continue to support Imagine No Malaria and our goal to save at least another 50,000 lives, we give thanks to God and the life-giving gift of Jesus Christ
who first taught us that the journey of life and salvation is through our commitment to Christian discipleship
which transforms our lives – and then empowers us to impact the lives
of our friends in Africa and our churches here in New England.
Glory to God for all God makes possible!

Presentations on malaria by Medical missionary  - contact Brian A. Lisse to book a presentation
As a doctor leading medical mission trips to Malawi I have had the awful experience of watching children die from malaria.   I would like the opportunity to talk to any interested group/congregation in New England on malaria, it's consequences, it's treatment and how projects such as ImagineNoMalaria have already helped and will continue to reduce the number of people with this dread disease.  Please allow at least 2 months notice to ensure availability.  Brian Lisse, MD, Associate Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine, Tufts Univ. School of Medicine, President, Bridges to Malawi, Attending Physician, Nashoba Valley Medical Center Emergency Department, Ayer, MA.  508-361-6069
