National Weather Service to offer spotter course

Rockland — The National Weather Service will train Skywarn weather spotters to verify weather events, forecasts or weather observed by National Weather Service meteorologists, and report conditions the NWS may not see. Spotters will be assigned a weather spotter ID number and learn how to report observations.

The free course, which is appropriate for all ages, will be offered at 301 Park St, Rockland, March 30, at 10 a.m. and again on April 3, at 6 p.m. To register and choose a class date, contact the Knox County EMA office at 594-5155 or send an email to kxeoc@knoxcountymaine.gov. Include contact information in case of a cancellation.
