Nail Clipping Clinic

By Loyal Biscuit Co. | Jan 28, 2014

Every so often we hold a nail clipping clinic at one of our locations to act as a fundraiser for a local animal shelter. While clipping nails might not be as fun of a fundraiser as say listening to some great music at one of our Pints for Paws events, they’re still an excellent way for us to provide a service to our customers while helping homeless animals all at the same time. Last Saturday we held one of our clinics in our Rockland store with all the proceeds going to the Pope Memorial Humane Society of Knox County.

Since some dogs can be a little feisty when it comes time for a nail trim, we usually enlist the help of a professional. For the past few clinics that has been Meredith, a super awesome vet tech from PenBay Veterinary Associates. She ended up clipping over 30 dogs in just two hours. That’s over 600 nails! And at $10 a pup, that ended up earning the PMHSKC a whopping $300.

Don’t look so scared Miss Jenny! Remember, it’s for a good cause!

All in all it was a great turnout and a lot of dogs walked away with shorter nails and happier feet. Thank you so much to Meredith for helping us out and I would like to give a special shout-out to Mel for being my camera-girl for the event!

So far the date for the next nail clipping clinic has not been announced, but when it is, it will be posted on our facebook page.

Until next time, Loyal fans!
