Waldoboro — Citizens and friends are invited to the Waldoborough Historical Society’s 50th anniversary celebration Sunday afternoon, June 17, at the WHS museum, 1164 Main St./Route 220.

Beginning at 12:15 p.m., a slide show of past celebrations will be shown in the Hauck/Bailey Building. At 12:30 p.m. a German music band will play; bring a lawn chair if the sky is sunny.  From 1 to 1:30 p.m., there will be a dedication of new signs, announcement of Waldoboro’s Past/Present Favorite Citizen and remarks, followed by more music. At 2 p.m., cake and ice cream will be shared and the free drawing winner will be announced.

All buildings and the Pound will be open from noon through 3 p.m. During the afternoon, Anniversary T-shirts will be available for purchase, along with the new 2019-20 18-month calendar.
