Lincolnville — The United Christian Church, 18 Searsmont Road/Route. 173 in Lincolnville Center, invites the community to its annual Music and Reflection for the Advent Season series. The events are held Sunday afternoons at 4 p.m., Dec. 2 through 16.

With the theme "come and find the quiet center," the series aims to provide a calm balance to the flurry of activities surrounding the holidays. Programs will be led by The Rev. Elizabeth Barnum, pastor of the United Christian Church, and include performances by local musicians, seasonal readings and moments of reflection.

The opening event Dec. 2 will feature Celtic harpist Alex Bigney of Warren, as well as selected Celtic readings. The series continues on Dec. 9 with singer, songwriter and instrumentalist Kat Logan of Georgetown. On Dec. 16, there will be a Taizé service with song leader Peter Yanz of St. George; and accompaniment by pianist Peter Saladino of Hope.

The church, built in 1821, offers a welcoming venue for these afternoons of music and quiet reflection. All are welcome. The church is handicapped accessible. There is no admission fee, although donations will be appreciated. For more information, call 763-3800 or visit ucclincolnville.com.
