NOTE: Camden Rotary Club’s Music-by-the-Sea program will happen Friday, July 4, come rain or shine. Camden Rotary Club’s Music by the Sea program, originally set for Camden Harbor Park, will be held at the Rockport Opera House. All are welcome to this free event, which includes four performances between 2 and 9 p.m. Refreshments will be available for sale.

Celebrate summer with an afternoon and evening of music from four different bands, offering sounds to suit every taste. Camden Rotary Club presents Music by the Sea, one of many festivities in Camden during the Midcoast Festival of Independence.

Free admission. Refreshment sales will benefit charities that serve local youth. Antique cars will parade through downtown Camden and arrive on Atlantic Avenue by 1:30 p.m. to help kick off the concert.


2:00 pm – 3:15 pm -  The Muellers – Maine’s best family bluegrass band

3:30 pm – 4:15 pm - The Midcoast Community Band – Marches, Broadway, and popular tunes

5:00 pm – 6:15 pm - Reina del Cid – A spirited folk rock group from Minneapolis

7:30 pm – 9:00 pm - David Dodson and The Lowdown, featuring John and Rachel Nicolas – Event headliner, local musician and singer songwriter David Dodson, has shared the stage with some of the nation’s best artists. His group's performance will lead up toCamden’s spectacular fireworks.

Important Firework Update:

The Camden Fireworks display will not be offered on the 4th or 5th of July this year. The fireworks company has confirmed that with the potential rain they cannot shoot them off the barge in the Camden Harbor on Friday, and with the sea conditions that are anticipated, they cannot shoot from the barge on Saturday.
