Owls Head — It's time to take a break from holiday shopping to visit with Santa and his helpers at the Owls Head Transportation Museum Dec. 8. The main display will be transformed into a holiday workshop with areas to write letters to Santa, decorate cookies, make ornaments and other holiday crafts.

At noon, everyone can bundle up and head outside to watch Santa arrive in a vintage aircraft. Once inside, he'll read a holiday story while folks warm up with the hot cocoa station. Before he heads back to the North Pole, Santa will collect the Polar AirMail and answer the questions kids are dying to ask. At 1:30 p.m., the Midcoast Community Band will get in the spirit of the season with a special holiday concert while everyone indulges on a seasonal spread of lavish treats. This event is free for all ages and open to the public.
