Mural at Ash Point school is community effort

Owls Head — Ash Point Community School unveiled a new mural Oct. 3 depicting a view of Penobscot Bay from Owls Head, including Owls Head Light. It was collaboratively designed by the school art teacher, Rick Wehnke ,Gloria Lord, Laurel Dean, Kristin Gould, Janelle Eddy and Principal Ben Tripp with local mural artist Alexis lammarino in the spring of 2019. The mural is dedicated to the school’s first year, and to celebrate the students, staff and community.

Classroom teachers chose the color combinations for the boats. Each student enrolled at Ash Point Community School during the 2018-2019 school year painted their own buoy.
