Mugler ace, Stan's Gang, women's play at Rockland Golf Club

Rockland — Recent news from the Rockland Golf Club:

On Wednesday, Aug. 30, Molly Mugler recorded her first career hole-in-one, as she sank her tee shot on the 136-yard, par-3 fifth hole using her driver. The ace was witnessed by Meg Sullivan and John Sullivan.

On Wednesday, Aug. 30, in Stan's Gang play, Jerry St. Clair, Dean Sasek and Earl Fargo finished first at +2 on the first nine holes; Jerry St. Clair, Dean Sasek and Earl Fargo, as well as John Black, Rick Knight, Steve Little and Bob Wiggins, tied at +9 on the second nine; and Jerry St. Clair, Dean Sasek and Earl Fargo, first at +11 for all 18 holes.

On Thursday, Aug. 24, the results of the women's association gross/net/putt event included:

A Flight — Madolin Fogarty, first gross 93; Sue Wootton, second gross 96; Becky Gamage, first net 73; and Kathy Harper, second net 74. Kathy Harper and Becky Gamage tied with the fewest putts at 30.

B Flight — Joni Hall, first gross 99; Joanna Schleif, second gross 107; Joyce Cooley, first net 74; and Pat Ashton, second net 75. Joni Hall finished with the fewest putts at 26.

The pin winners were: Marty Jones, 19-9 on the fifth hole; Becky Gamage, 21-5 on the 10th; and Heidi Lyman, 10-4 on the 18th.

On Monday, Aug. 23, in Stan's Gang play, Jerry St.Clair, Chip Allen, Joe Adams and Dean Sasek finished first on the first nine, second nine and for 18 holes.
