MRC serves up free youth tennis program this fall

By Staff | Sep 01, 2017

Rockport — The Midcoast Recreation Center again will offer free Red Ball youth tennis this fall, as the program begins after Labor Day.

The program will run Mondays and Thursdays 4 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 9 to 10 a.m. The program is for children ages 6-8 and will run in calendar month sessions throughout the year.

“The Red Ball program’s mission is to serve the community, impact the lives of youth and grow the sport by taking down the barriers to entry,” says MRC tennis director Seth Meyer. “MRC strives to offer opportunity to all kids in pursuit of an active and healthy lifestyle and develop skills both on and off the court.”

Meyer said there were more than 500 registrations last year and “we look forward to another successful season ahead and cannot wait to have the kids out on the courts again.”

To register online, visit midcoastrec.org or call 236-9400.
