'Moth’ inspires Storytellers Open Mic

Jul 07, 2017

Camden — Camden Public Library invites one and all to its first Storytellers Open Mic Night, inspired by “The Moth Radio Hour,” Tuesday, July 18, at 7 p.m. All are welcome, no experience needed.

Stories are limited to five minutes and traditionally are true stories told, without notes. This being Maine, a few tall tales will not be discouraged. The evening is part of Adult Summer Reading 2017 Read ME! The new statewide summer reading program aims to get Maine’s adults all reading the same books, by Maine authors and recommended by a Maine author.

The books are: fiction, “Unknown Caller” by Debra Spark; and, nonfiction, “The Moth: 50 True Stories.” Camden Public Library also is offering a special summer reading bingo card, with prizes for each row completed; finish the book review portion on the back of the card to be entered for a grand prize drawing.
