Rockport — Roger Moody will speak about, and sign copies of, his new book Wednesday, July 19, at 6:30 p.m. at the Rockport Opera House, 6 Central St.

“The County of Knox, Maine, A Governmental History, 1860-2015” traces the county’s incorporation; presents the construction of and additions to the courthouse and jail(s); reviews the most significant decisions of the County Commissioners and Sheriff; and discusses the functions of various county departments. This book represents the first-ever compilation of the governmental history of the county and will serve as an historical reference resource for bringing understanding to the issues, trends and accomplishments of the last 155 years.

Moody graduated from Camden High School and the University of Maine; and served two years of active duty as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps. He served as municipal manager for the City of Ellsworth and the Town of Camden; and was elected to two terms as Knox County Commissioner, 2008-12 and 2013-16.
