Monthly naturalist walks begin Dec. 7

Nov 15, 2013

Camden — Coastal Mountains Land Trust and the Camden Conservation Commission are teaming up to co-sponsor monthly natural history walks in the Camden area.

Walks will take place on the first Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon. Locations will vary.

The walks will explore land trust preserves and other local hiking spots to encourage naturalist discussion and education. Participants should come prepared for an outdoor excursion, easy to moderate in pace, and please leave dogs at home. The walks will be facilitated by area naturalist Roger Rittmaster and will encourage experts and amateurs to discuss their knowledge of natural history.

The first Naturalist Walk will take place Saturday, Dec. 7. Participants will meet in the parking lot of the Camden Snow Bowl. Advance registration is not necessary.
