Cushing — The fourth-grade class at the Cushing Community School held a mock election Oct. 30, one week before the general election.

Staff and students grades one through four registered and voted. An official ballot box and modified ballots were used.

Students chose the Obama-Biden ticket for the presidential race and Angus King for the U.S. Senate seat.

Each student received a "I Voted Today" sticker. Teacher Leslie Spear said Lisa Young at the Cushing Town Office helped to make the educational election realistic.
