A drive through Thomaston June 4 reveals some varied positions posted on signs having to do with town business coming up for vote next week. Signs seeking voters to vote "No" on Article 3 which asks to disband the police department and go with services from the Knox County Sheriff's Office were seen, as was one asking voters to consider lowering the town's taxes by voting "Yes."

And this sign generates questions as the town is not seeking to gift any land to anyone for a crematorium. Article 6 seeks to add a portion of town property on Anna Belle Lane to the Village Cemetery and request bids for proposals to lease and develop for a crematorium. (Photo by: Beth A. Birmingham)

What? Thomaston is seeking bids for a crematorium? I think this must be an error also.A business may be seeking to license one,but a town !
