Rockland — Hundreds of people bundled up to weather the cold Friday evening, Nov. 23, for the lighting of the Lobster Trap Tree in Mildred Merrill Park. Carols were sung by members of the Midcoast Music Academy before Santa arrived via a Rockland fire engine. Hot drinking chocolate and cookies were served. Above, Santa and his helpers throw the switch to light up the tree.
