Driving the back roads of Union this time of year can reveal some amazing scenes as was discovered Oct. 9. Neighbors Sylvia Lundeval, left, and Sybil Wentworth have been working on a labor of love for the past four years. Digging up rocks, pulling weeds, planting a variety of colorful flowers in a spot on a hill where a house used to stand. This year they decided to add sunflowers and a happy little scarecrow family to the mix. "The only thing we're missing is water," Lundeval said.

Beautiful work Sybil and Sylvia. You two have done a beautiful job with this garden and Sybil your gardens are beautiful too.

Thank you, Beth, for the photos, and cheers for the neighbors Sybil and Sylvia!  This must make everyone smile as they go by.
