Weather Brief Sep 03, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - September 3, 2019 PM

After a cloudy and wet start to the week, the Midcoast is back to sunny and warmer conditions on Tuesday. High temperatures climbed to the upper 60s to low 70s as high pressure built in over the region. The high will move east on Wednesday as a cold front moves in from the west. This will make for a cloudy and breezy day with a chance of showers and storms during the evening and early night. Skies will clear on Thursday as high pressure builds in from the west, ushering in cooler and drier air. We'll see clouds build back in on Friday as hurricane Dorian moves up the east coast through the week, reaching the Mid Atlantic by Friday morning. Dorian is expected to move just south of the Gulf of Maine on Saturday making for breezy conditions across coastal Maine with sustained winds between 10 to 20mph with high gusts possible. Rain showers will also be possible along the coast. Tropical force winds are expected to stay just off the Maine coast at this time but this could change if the storm tracks further west. We'll see some clearing on Sunday as Dorian clears east into the North Atlantic.
