Weather Brief Sep 24, 2018

Midcoast Forecast - September 24, 2018

The week is off to a chilly start with highs only into the 50s Monday despite sunny skies. The cooler air is filtering in from the north as strong high pressure sets up over the region. The high will shift east over the Canadian maritimes on Tuesday as our next weather maker moves in from the west.

An area of low pressure will move through the Great Lakes Tuesday then into Quebec lifting a warm front over New England. This will push in clouds with rain arriving by Tuesday evening. Rain will continue heavy at times into the overnight. We'll see some clearing Wednesday morning as milder and more humid air moves in along breezy south winds with highs climbing into the 60s. A cold front will move in from the west late Wednesday with more showers and storms, some of which may be severe over western Maine and New England.

High pressure moves back in for the late week with sunny skies and cooler temperatures yet again. Sunshine will continue for Saturday with another round of rain on Sunday.
