Midcoast Forecast - September 12, 2018

The Midcoast is drying out Wednesday but clouds remain after a storm brought heavy rain to the area Monday night and through Tuesday. The Midcoast was the bullseye for rain accumulation with some spots picking up between 5" and 6". The cold front that moves through has stalled over southern New England providing continued cloud cover to coastal Maine that will continue to linger for the start of Thursday.

We'll see more sunshine as we get into the late week and weekend as high pressure builds over the region. Temperatures will be comfortable with highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s and lows in the 50s. High pressure will also keep Hurricane Florence well to our south which is expected to make landfall near the border of North Carolina and South Carolina on Friday and linger through the weekend. The Gulf of Maine and offshore locations will see larger swells from the storm through the late week.

Our next chance for rain comes late Tuesday and into Wednesday as a cold front moves in from the northwest. Rainfall may be enhanced by the remains of Florence.
