Weather Brief Sep 10, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - September 10, 2019 PM

We've enjoyed a mainly sunny day Tuesday but clouds are building in as our next round of rain moves into the Midcoast. An area of low pressure is moving in from the west and will pass through Quebec Tuesday night then through Maine on Wednesday with rounds of showers. The low will first lift a warm front over the state overnight that will bring the initial batch of rain and usher in warmer and more humid air. Showers will move in around midnight and continue through the first part of Wednesday morning. We'll see some clearing into the midday hours allowing for highs to climb into the 70s to near 80. As the low moves east late in the day it will drag a cold front in from the north, touching of a few more showers and possibly some thunderstorms during the late afternoon and evening. Rainfall totals will be fairly light with most spots below 1/2". Skies will gradually clear during the overnight making for partly to mostly sunny skies on Thursday. Cooler and drier air will filter in behind this system with highs back to the 60s and lows in the 40s and 50s. Another low will track in for the start of the weekend with periods of showers Saturday.
