Weather Brief Oct 09, 2018

Midcoast Forecast - October 9, 2018

Tuesday started off with clouds locked in yet again as a warm front lifted over the region but the sunshine returned in full force for the afternoon as temperatures warmed into the 70s across the Midcoast. The warm air will hold in place during the overnight with lows only in the 60s then rise into the 70s to near 80 Wednesday morning. The mild air will be short lived as a cold front races in from the north that will drop temperatures from north to south through the afternoon while returning clouds and some spotty showers.

Rain chances increase on Thursday as an area of low pressure moves in from the west dragging a front along with it. Rain will be heavy at times with 1" to 2" of rain expected. This front will also steer Hurricane Michael south of the Gulf of Maine during the late week and quickly move it east out to sea heading into the weekend.

Strong high pressure will set up over the region for the weekend bringing the Midcoast back to mostly sunny skies with some of the coolest air so far this fall.
