Midcoast Forecast - October 23, 2019 AM

A storm is moving through the Midcoast bringing soaking rains and wind. Rain will continue heavy at times through Wednesday morning before coming to an end during the afternoon. Rainfall totals will range between 1" to 2" with locally higher amounts. Winds will be strong at times with this storm but not as intense as the storm that impacted the region last Thursday. We'll see east to southeast wind  peak early Wednesday morning leading up to sunrise with sustained winds of 20 to 30mph with gusts up to 40mph. Higher gusts will be possible along the immediate coast and over the open ocean. Winds will back off through the morning and into the afternoon, turning south and then west with speeds of 10 to 15mph with gusts to 25mph. We'll see some sun late in the day as dry air surges in behind the storm. Skies will continue to clear into Thursday as high pressure builds in from the south. A cold front will approach from the northwest on Friday increasing clouds and bringing periods of showers overnight and into Saturday morning. We'll see clearing and cooling late Saturday and into Sunday as high pressure builds back into the northeast.
