Weather Brief Oct 16, 2018

Midcoast Forecast - October 16, 2018

The front that brought clouds and showers on Monday pushed through the Midcoast during the overnight and into early Tuesday morning as strong west to northwest winds ushered in cooler and drier air. Winds gusted between 30mph and 50mph resulting in down limbs and power outages across Maine. This allowed for mostly sunny skies to return but temperature only managed to climb into the 50s. The brisk winds will be with us through the rest of Tuesday and increase again on Wednesday.

Another cold front will move in from the northwest through Wednesday with southwest winds increasing ahead of the front through the day. Clouds will steadily build through the day with spotty showers possible late in the day and some light snow in the high terrain. The front will pass through the Midcoast during the evening and early night switching winds again out of the west and northwest with strong gusts possible.

High pressure will move in over the region during the late week returning us to mostly sunny conditions as we see some of the coolest air of the season with lows in the 20s and 30s and highs in the 40s and 50s.
