Weather Brief Nov 08, 2018

Midcoast Forecast - November 8, 2018

High pressure in place over New England provided another sunny and pleasant day across the Midcoast . Temperatures started in the 40s for most with highs climbing into the low to mid 50s. We'll see mostly clear skies into the overnight and for the start of Friday before we begin to see changes.

Clouds will steadily build back in Friday with another round of rain moving late in the day and continuing into Saturday morning, very similar to the setup we saw last weekend. Rainfall totals will range either side of 1" during this period. Meanwhile, cold air will be in place over the northern half of the state and the western Maine mountains setting the stage for snow accumulations with totals up to a foot in some spots. Skies will clear Saturday afternoon as cool and dry air moves into the region along gusty west to northwest winds with sunshine continuing for Sunday. Winds could gust up to 40mph which may lead to isolated power outages. Strong winds will also leads to rough seas with waves up to 10 feet offshore. Temperatures will become chilly for the second half of the weekend with highs dipping into the 30s and lows in the 20s.

High pressure will set up over the region into the early week with continued sunny and cold weather on Monday but clouds will build back in late Monday as another storm moves in. With cold air in place, this may start as a mix of winter weather Tuesday morning then change to rain along the coast through the day. Stay tuned for updates.
