Weather Brief Nov 22, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - November 22, 2019 PM

A cold front is sweeping through the region Friday that has brought the return of clouds and wet weather with rain showers during the afternoon. This front will move east overnight as cooler and drier air rushes in along brisk west to northwest winds. This will clear skies to begin the weekend with lows dipping down into the 20s with wind chills in the teens Saturday morning. Sunny skies will help temperatures to rise into the mid to upper 30s Saturday afternoon as winds decrease. Another round of clouds and showers will move into the Midcoast on Sunday as low pressure passes east through the Gulf of Maine. This will be a quick moving system with clearing by Monday morning. This system will leave around 1/4" of rain with snow accumulations possible for parts of central Maine. High pressure will build in from the south for the early week making for sunshine and light winds as highs raise into the low 40s Monday and mid 40s on Tuesday. The warming trend continues on Wednesday with highs around 50 as our next round of rain moves in with low pressure tracking to our north. We'll see gradual clearing and cooling in the wake of this system for the late week.
