Weather Brief Nov 16, 2018

Midcoast Forecast - November 16, 2018

Friday brought the first widespread winter storm of the season bringing accumulating snow all the way to the coast with most spots picking up 4" to 8" of snow. Snow mixed with rain at times along the immediate coast resulting in areas with lesser amounts and more of a slushy mess. The storm will clear out to the east Friday night making way for the return of sunshine on Saturday. Along with sunshine, temperatures will be milder reaching the low 40s during the afternoon helping to melt some of the recent snow. A cold front will move through late in the day with little fanfare that will usher in cooler air on Sunday. Sunshine will continue for the second half of the weekend but highs will be about 10 degrees cooler, holding the 30s.

Monday will bring another chance of snow and rain mix along the coast as weak low pressure ripples through New England. Potential snow does not look significant as of Friday with a dusting to a couple inches possible but this will continued to be monitored through the weekend. Bitter cold air will move in behind the storm for the mid week with lows back into the teens and highs in the 20s.
