Weather Brief May 24, 2018

Midcoast Forecast - May 24, 2018

High pressure built in from the west Thursday clearing skies once again and pushing in cooler air that will drop high temperatures back into the 50s and 60s but the cooler weather will be short lived with a taste of summer back to end the week. A warm front will lift over the region Thursday night and into Friday that will give us a breezy southwest wind, ushering in warm air with widespread 80s across the Midcoast with some cooler readings right on the ocean. There will be some clouds around on Friday but sunshine will be the dominant weather feature.

Heading into Memorial Day weekend will bring out pattern back into a cooler and cloudy weather pattern. The warm front that passed over the region will push back in from the east as a cold front Saturday that will bring clouds and some showers while cooling temperature back down to the 60s and 70s. This front will stall over New England Sunday and into Monday with the Midcoast holding on the cooler side of the front with highs continuing to drop into the 50s and 60s. The front will act as a focal point for clouds and periods of rain although the wet weather will not be a constant during this time and be fairly light. Skies will begin to clear out for next Tuesday and into Wednesday with temperatures climbing back into the 70s and 80s.
