Weather Brief May 21, 2018

Midcoast Forecast - May 21, 2018

High pressure has settled on top of the region to begin the week giving us a sunny start to the week and helping warm temperatures into the 70s Monday afternoon. An area of low pressure will track in from the west on Tuesday pushing clouds back into the Midcoast with scattered showers arriving during the mid to late afternoon. These will continue into the early night before clearing into Wednesday morning.

We'll see a good deal of sun on Wednesday then clouds will increase for the afternoon as a cold front drops in from the north touching off showers and storms late in the day. We'll clear out and cool down behind this for Thursday with highs cooling to the 50s and 60s.

Temperatures will shoot back up on Friday with many locations nearing or pushing into the 80s. With partly to mostly sunny skies. Clouds and showers roll through on Saturday taking the edge off the heat before clearing and cooling into Sunday and Monday. I am closely watching a tropical system that could bring rain during the second half of Memorial Day weekend but latest data suggests this will hold off to our south.
