Weather Brief May 18, 2018

Midcoast Forecast - May 18, 2018

Mostly sunny skies made a return on Friday making for a nice end to the week as high pressure set up on top of New England. We'll see mostly clear skies into the overnight allowing for temperatures to head down to the 30s and 40s by early Saturday morning. Saturday will start off with some peaks of sunshine early but clouds will roll in quick as rain pushes in from the southwest along a warm front. Showers will arrive during the mid to late afternoon and continue into Saturday night, heavy at times as the warm front lifts over Maine dragged north by and area of low pressure traveling northeast through Quebec.

We'll see a few lingering showers for the first half of Sunday and breezy southwest winds as milder air pulls into the Midcoast with highs around 70. Skies will gradually clear through the afternoon and continue into the overnight.

Next week is looking pleasant overall with a good deal of sunshine and high temperatures hovering around 70. There will be a couple chances for spotty rain but nothing looks significant or a washout at this point.
