Weather Brief Mar 26, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - March 26, 2019 PM

It was hard to find a cloud in the sky Tuesday with high pressure in place over the region providing clear skies. The lack of clouds and cold north winds have made for cooler temperatures especially overnight with lows in the teens and 20s and highs holding in the 30s. We'll see this trend continue into Wednesday but with afternoon temperatures climbing slightly.

High pressure will shift east during the late week switching winds out of the south which will continue the warming trend with mid 40s by Thursday afternoon to near 50 on Friday. The warm weather will be accompanied by a round of showers as a cold front moves in from the northwest Friday. The front will stall out over the region on Saturday then lift back north as a warm front with continued rain chances. Temperatures will remain on the mild side with highs near 50 with some 60s for far southwest Maine. The wet weather continues into Sunday as the front once again shifts back south as a cold front. Rain may change briefly to snow Sunday night as temperatures drop behind the front. Skies will clear heading into the early week as cooler air continues to filter in with lows back to the 20s and highs in the 30s and low 40s.
