Weather Brief Mar 20, 2018

Midcoast Forecast - March 20, 2018

Our first day of Spring Tuesday started off feeling like mid winter with morning lows down into the single digits but sunny skies helped temperatures climb nearly 30 degrees with mid to upper 30s for the afternoon. We won't be as cold into Wednesday morning with lows down into the upper teens to mid 20s as clouds begin to build in.

We'll see a mix of sun and clouds Wednesday morning but clouds will steadily increase through the day along with northeast winds with overcast skies by the afternoon as our next winter storm approaches from the south. Light snow will begin moving into the Midcoast from the south around Midnight and continue into Thursday with periods of moderate snow and northeast winds gusting up to 35mph.

Snow will lighten and begin to break apart through Thursday morning as the storm starts to pull out to the south and east with some sunny breaks possible by the late afternoon and evening. Since this storm is passing further offshore than the previous this month, snow totals will be on the low end with 2" to 5" along the coast and lesser amounts inland.

Clouds and cooler air linger for the weekend with a couple flakes possible Saturday with a slight warm up coming early next week.
