Weather Brief Mar 14, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - March 14, 2019

The Midcoast woke up to a trace to up to over 3 inches of snow Thursday morning left in the wake of a warm front that passed through during the overnight hours with a slug of moisture. This has been melting quickly  Thursday as temperatures climb into the mid 40s with a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures will continue to stay mild into Friday as a broad area of low pressure moves in from the west, driving in warm air along south winds with highs nearing 50. The low will drag a cold front into the region bringing scattered showers to the Midcoast through the day Friday with accumulations staying low, around 1/10".

Cooler air will filter in during the weekend but it will be slow to reach the coast allowing for highs to reach the 40s to near 50s again. We'll see gradually clearing with mostly sunny skies back by Sunday with highs down to the 30s. Clouds will build back in Monday as a weak disturbance moves through with a chance of light snow and rain. We'll clear out into the mid week with highs back to the 40s.
