Weather Brief Jul 17, 2018

Midcoast Forecast - July 17, 2018

Showers and storms will be moving through the Midcoast during the afternoon and early night on Tuesday with rounds of much needed rain. Some storms may become strong to severe during this time mainly for interior and western locations of Maine with heavy downpours, lightning, and strong wind. Most rainfall totals will range between 1/4" to 1/2". The cold front will push off the coast into early Wednesday gradually clearing skies.

High pressure will build in from the west on Wednesday making for partly to mostly sunny skies and then sit on top of the region for the late week continuing the sunny and pleasant weather. Humidity will be lower during this period with highs in the 70s to mid 80s. This trend will continue into the start of the weekend.

Clouds will build back in through Sunday with rain returning during the overnight and into Monday. We will then set up for a wet stretch of weather for next week with daily chances for rain that should help to relieve drought conditions.
