Midcoast Forecast - January 10, 2018

The Midcoast is back to a winter wonderland with late day snow on Wednesday and periods of flurries on Thursday as the storm system that spent most of the week lingering over the region pulls out to the north and east. Canadian high pressure will build in Thursday night and into Friday pushing bitter cold air into the Midcoast with highs dipping into the teens and lows in the single digits to near 0. With the breezy northwest winds factored in, wind chill values will dip between 0 and -15 at times during the overnight. This trend will continue will continue into Saturday with below normal temperatures holding despite mostly sunny skies.

Clouds will build in from the south on Sunday as a storm system passes by to our south but all precipitation from this storm is expected to stay offshore. Temperatures begin to gradually rebound some during the early week with highs climbing back into the 20s and 30s with continued quiet weather. Clouds will build back in on Wednesday as a weak clipper system moves through that could bring a quick round of flurries.
