Weather Brief Feb 24, 2020

Midcoast Forecast - February 24, 2020 AM

The sunny and mild trend we saw during the weekend will continue for Monday as Maine remains under the influence of high pressure. We'll see a cold start to the day with lows in the 20s but these will rebound into the mid 40s during the afternoon. Clouds will increase late in the day as low pressure approaches from the southwest leading to mostly cloudy skies for Tuesday as highs hold in the 40s. The low will stall out to our west as it runs into high pressure over the region but a second wave of low pressure will move in behind it and push a mix of rain and snow to the region by late Wednesday, continuing into Thursday morning. Temperatures along the coast will mainly hold above freezing making this a mostly rain event but temperatures inland will be cooler with periods of snow likely. This storm will gradually clear out Friday with sunny but colder weather moving in for the weekend.
