Weather Brief Dec 03, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - December 3, 2019 AM

A winter storm is moving through New England that is bringing snow, sleet, and some freezing rain to the region. Snow will fall through Tuesday morning before coming to an end during the afternoon and evening. Snow may mix with sleet and freezing rain at times mainly during Tuesday morning. Total accumulations will range between 4" to 8" with locally higher amounts up to 12" possible. Wind will also be a factor with this storm with sustained northeast winds between 20mph to 30mph with gusts to 40mph. This will result in blowing and drifting snow and may cause power outages when combined with periods of heavier snow and winter mix. Highs on Tuesday will only reach the upper 20s with wind chill values in the teens.

We'll see the return of some sunshine Wednesday with lighter winds with cloudy skies lingering into Thursday. Weak low pressure will move through on Friday bringing a chance for light snow accumulations followed by sunny and cold conditions for the weekend. Changes are on the way as temperatures warm near 50 on Monday as rain moves in.
