Weather Brief Aug 17, 2018

Midcoast Forecast - August 17, 2018

Clouds are rolling in Friday afternoon as an area of low pressure tracks in from the west with a round of showers and storms for the overnight and into Saturday morning. Some of these storms may become strong to severe during this time mainly across northern and western Maine with heavy downpours, gusty wind, and frequent lightning. Marine air at the coast will likely chew away at a lot of the storm activity as these roll into the Midcoast. The bulk of the rain will come to an end Saturday morning with a low chance of a pop up shower during the afternoon along coastal zones before seeing more sun toward the late afternoon and evening.

High pressure will build in from the north into Sunday returning the area to mostly sunny skies as drier and cooler air pushes in with highs in the low to mid 70s after starting the day off in the 50s and low 60s. The sunny and dry weather continues into early next week with a round of rain moving through on Wednesday.
