Weather Brief Apr 25, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - April 25, 2019 PM

High pressure has moved over New England on Thursday helping to erode the cloud cover that has been locked in over the past few days. This has made for a pleasant spring day and a much needed break from the gray weather with highs climbing into the 50s for most locations. This high will clear to the east into Friday bringing a return to the cloudy and wet weather.

Clouds will build back in into Friday as our next storm system moves in from the west with rain developing around midday Friday and continuing through the overnight and into Saturday bringing another good soaking with 3/4" to 1.5" possible during this time. The most organized rain will taper off Saturday morning with some clearing possible into the afternoon when the sun may peak through briefly. There will be a chance for some late day rain showers wrapping in late in the day as the storm exits to the north and east. We'll see some peaks of sun Sunday morning before another round of rain slides in late in the day with the most organized rain along the coast . This will likely clear out by Monday morning as high pressure builds back into the region.

There is still some question how long high pressure will hold during the early week with more rain makers coming in down the pike that could bring continued pockets of rain through the mid week. Any rain that does arrive will likely feature light accumulations.
