Weather Brief Jan 21, 2019

Midcoast Foreast - January 21, 2019

The Midcoast is cleaning up after a storm brought a half foot to a foot and a half of snow and sleet mix during the weekend. Clouds and a few flurries continue to linger over the region as the storm departs to the north and east. The big story for Monday and the early week is the bitter cold arctic air that is settling over the region that has kept temperatures in the single digits through the day while steadily dropping temperatures. Breezy northwest winds have added insult to injury with wind chill values ranging -10 to -20.

Sunshine will return on Tuesday as high pressure builds in from the west allowing for highs to rebound into the teens with lighter winds. The warming trend will continue into the mid week as highs climb into the 30s and low 40s as another storm moves in from the west. This will mostly likely start as some snow and rain mix late in the day on Wednesday but quickly change to all rain with showers continuing through Thursday.

We'll see clearing and cooling into the late week with another winter storm possible for Sunday.
