Midcoast Area Veteran's Memorial Dedication
On Friday August 3rd at 6 pm the Midcoast Area Veteran's Memorial will be dedicating the Veteran's Wall located on Upper Limerock Street beside the American Legion. This Memorial has been underway for many years and pays honor to the men and women who have served our Country..
Among the speakers will be David Sulin, an avid and extremely knowledgeable Civil War historian who will speak on Veterans in the Civil War- 4th Maine
Charles Johnson, Owls Head ,Maine, Gunnery Sargeant - Chosin Reservoir survivor.
Captain Christopher Roberge, US Coast Guard Sector Commander, Northern New England
Ronald Rainfrette, American Legion District Commander
BG Brent Boyles, Deputy Adjutant General Maine Army National Guard

Joining the dedication will be the Four Commands of the US Coast Guard stationed in Rockland. They will also be welcoming Commander Koprowski and Command Master Chief Hart of the US Navy-USS San Antonio who will be here for the Lobster Festival.
Due to the hard work and perseverance of many, contributions and purchase of tiles in a loved ones honor or memory, there are approximately 200 plus tiles honoring men and women from Pre-Civil War to today.
The Midcoast Area Veteran's Memorial Board is made up of representatives of BPO Elks, Rockland Rotary, Rockland Kiwanis, American Legion, Veteran's of Foreign Wars, Marine Corps League, James Brannan, Esq.and Tom Luttrell, Finance Director of Rockland.
It is a beautiful wall that gives one pause to reflect on the folks who have served to give us our freedom. Please join us in honoring the fine men and women who have served our great Mid-Coast Area, State and Country.
Friday, August 3rd at 6pm, Upper Limerock Street next to the American Legion.
Light refreshments will be served courtesy of the Emblem Club and American Legion.
