Merryspring to resume outside nature programs

May 20, 2020
All June programs at Merryspring will be held outdoors in the park’s gardens and Hexagon.

Camden — As Knox County begins to reopen, Merryspring Nature Center will resume its popular nature education programs outdoors starting in June.

Merryspring recognizes the seriousness of the pandemic situation, and with the continuation of its programs it will put safety measures in place. All programs in June will be held outdoors in the park’s gardens and Hexagon. Tuesday Talks will take place in chairs spaced a safe distance apart, and speakers will use a PA system to let their voices carry over a spread-out audience. Guests are asked to wear face masks and to bring exact change for admission fees. Weekend Workshops will also take place outdoors, and guests must preregister and pay for workshops beforehand by contacting Merryspring at 236-2239 or

Because programs will be held exclusively outside, guests should also plan for weather, including sun. In case of rain, programs will either be canceled or rescheduled. Program dates are subject to change regarding local and state guidelines.
