Camden — Gardener John Fromer will lead a program about combining perennials in the garden at Merryspring Nature Center, 30 Conway Road, Camden, Tuesday, Aug. 4 at noon.

Fromer's talk will cover the use of color, texture, repetition, foliage, and plant groupings. He will emphasize the importance of bloom-times, planting dates and taking advantage of non-blooming perennials to keep gardens colorful and changing all season.

Fromer has been a Maine Master Gardener since 1998 and runs Appleton Ridge Flower and Vegetable Farm with his wife Kathy, also a Maine Master Gardener.

This event is part of the Summer Talk series. Due to the on-going pandemic, guests must take safety seriously during this program, and are advised to wear face masks. Seating for this event will be outdoors in chairs set up a safe distance apart. This event is subject to change due to state and local regulations.

The cost of this program is $5, with free admission for Merryspring members. Guests are encouraged to bring exact change to minimize cash transactions.
