Merryspring offers birdwatching walk for families

Jun 26, 2020
Youngsters learn how to spot birds in the trees at Merryspring.

Camden — Merryspring Nature Center will host a free backyard birdwatching walk for families and children Friday, July 10 at 10 a.m.

This outdoor walk will introduce kids to a host of common and easy to identify birds by sight and call. A small number of children’s binoculars will be available to use. To keep groups small during pandemic conditions, Free Family Fridays have limited space available and guests must preregister. Families can sign up by contacting Merryspring at info@merryspring.org or 236-2239.

Families must wear face masks and adhere to safe social distancing guidelines. In the event of rain the program will be canceled. Guests should bring water bottles and be prepared to be outside for up to one hour. Free Family Fridays will take place weekly at 10 a.m. between July 3 and Aug. 21.

Merryspring is located at the end of Conway Road, just off of Route 1 in Camden behind Hannaford Shopping Plaza. For more information on this program, contact info@merryspring.org or 236-2239.
