Merryspring is calling all Wildlife Detectives

Jul 24, 2020
Children look for signs of wildlife with Program Director Brett Willard.

Camden — Merryspring Nature Center will offer a free family program called “Wildlife Detectives” Friday, Aug. 7 at 10 a.m.

In this program, children will solve natural mysteries hidden in animal bones and fur.  Using their detective skills, kids will learn about a number of native Maine mystery animals’ diet, behavior, adaptations, and habitat. After the activity, there will be a brief nature walk to look for evidence of wildlife.

To keep groups small during pandemic conditions, Free Family Fridays have limited space available and guests must preregister for this program. Families can sign up by contacting Merryspring at info@merryspring.org or 236-2239.

This program is outdoors. Families must wear face masks and adhere to safe social distancing guidelines. In the event of rain, this program will be canceled. Guests should bring water bottles and be prepared to be outside for up to one hour.

Merryspring is located at the end of Conway Road, just off of Route 1 in Camden behind Hannaford Shopping Plaza. For more information, contact info@merryspring.org or call 236-2239.
