Mental illness presentations set for Oct. 23, 29

Oct 11, 2019

Rockport — The National Alliance on Mental Illness Maine will offer Camden Hills Regional High School students and staff a presentation on Ending the Silence, Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 10 to 11 a.m.

A free community presentation on the topic will be offered Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., also at CHRHS.

Attendees at each event will hear a personal story from a presenter who has lived with the experience of mental illness and will learn how to be a resource to those around them with a mental health need. Ending the Silence is a 50-minute program designed for middle and high school audiences. Students can learn symptoms and indicators of mental illness, and are given ideas about how to help themselves, friends, or family members who may be in need of support.
