Rockport — Coastal Mountains Land Trust’s popular Arts on the Hill series will bring musicians from Bay Chamber’s Music School up to Beech Nut for a jazz improv concert Thursday, July 19, at 5 p.m.

Mehrtinhead is a fun improv group featuring John Mehrmann on drums, Nate Martin on bass and Mike Whitehead on trumpet (hence its unusual name). All are instructors at the Bay Chamber Music School, which provides a dynamic environment in which to learn and grow through music education, practice and performance.

Everyone one is invited to bring a picnic dinner, relax and enjoy the show atop Beech Hill. Refreshments and reception will follow the performance. Attendees should plan to arrive early to allow time for the .75-mile walk up to Beech Nut. Beech Hill Preserve is a 295-acre conservation property, managed for the complementary purposes of maintaining its scenic beauty, historic value, grassland bird habitat and organic blueberry production.
