Camden — Maine has the fourth longest coastline of all states in the U.S. — 5,597,298 meters. Megunticook Rowing has set a challenge to “row” the length of Maine’s coastline this winter. The team is finishing up on May 1. The public is invited to come to the green in Camden or the Midcoast Recreation Center in Rockport Saturday, May 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., cheer on the team, sign up to row, or “purchase” some meters toward the team’s goal and contribute to the scholarship fund. No experience needed; Hop on an erg and log some meters toward this lofty goal. Put a relay team together. Anyone across the globe can participate in the fundraising component, which will add meters to this goal, but also dollars to its mission - providing the opportunity for everyone in the community to participate in the sport of rowing.
